Mercedes Benz Star Emblem

Hi ya all. I just ordered the MB Star Emblem for my Passion, where is the best place to put it to get the desired effect? I'm thinking on the rear just next to the SMART logo. Any thoughts?

I sawed off (with dental floss) the front smart emblem and put it near that location. I believe the MB star should always go on the front as was on my CLS 550

What is the "desired effect"? (and to let you know, this has been debated back and forth for years here). If you are trying to convince people you have an MB, debadge the car, then put one where-ever you see one on a real MB. Just be aware, a smart, though engineered (originally) by Benz, is NOT a Benz - it is a parallel division of the Daimler AG corporation. Sort of the equivalent of putting a Caddy badge on a Chevy...

The. " desired effect " is to make people smile.

I understand the situation fully it is meant as a joke and a conversation device, not to say the SMART is M. Benz. When I had a 1969 VW Bug, I installed a 356 Porsche engine and transaxel in the Bug. I installed a Porsche badge set on the car just for fun. I had a lot of fun with that but I don't think anyone thought my Bug was a Porsche!

Not to split hairs but isn't that exactly what they did with the Escalade?

Designed by MB and imported by MB, but not an MB. Then you wonder why MB dealers refuse to carry it. If MB would put the stars on at the factory, the dealers wouldn't have an excuse.

I have a 450 and it has Mercedes all over the engine and manufacturer stickers.

My License plate frame says MERCEDES across the top of the frame and across the bottom of the frame finishes with ITTY BITTY BENZ.

I get lots of rear view smiles. You see them lean forward to read, mouth the words and then Bazinga! THERE IT IS! EAR to EAR.

I have the stars. One to replace the SMART across the back, but which will be reinstalled on the lower left tailgate edge, and one to replace the Chicken Head, but up on the flap. I know the new location is in the middle of the smile, but I find that about as civil appearing as an adult nose ring on a baby. But, that's just me.

There was a time, a few years ago, when I voiced opposition to putting a Mercedes Tristar on a smart. I still think, "not for me", but ... what the heck, hehehe.

Different strokes.
