My 424 day wait is almost over!

Thats right...the last person on this forum who has still not gotten his car is about to pick it up! I got a call tonite from Emily at Buckhead and she said the wait is over. I will pick it up first thing Friday mrning. I hope like hell this wait will be worth it.
The first thing I am going to do is bring her back to the lot and race a 3 door yaris. We have about 10 traffic lights that are in succesion and I have put $100 a light that I win in the smart. I will keep everyone posted on the outcome!

Wow! I hope you like your smart.
I'm #1237 and the other day I read about a Buckhead customer with a res. # 1227 and I'm thinking Oh boy! it won't be long now! Then I read your post. 424 days! that would put me at the end of July! Then I go check the DDE and it moved OUT! 5 days. It was 6/18 - 9/19 now it's 6/23 - 9/24.
I know the res#'s don't mean anything nationaly but within one dealership the numbers should

I hope you smoke the Yaris

Damn, you beat me I think I was 2nd longest on the waiting list at 407 days..good luck on that race, you shouldn't have made that bet and put the $100 in some floor mats or towards tinting...I have a feeling your going to have one happy Yaris owner after the race..good luck anyway.

Make sure you drive it in manual mode during this race so it doesn't try to shift so early on you. And maybe you should have put money on MPG during that stretch rather than who gets there first.

Not telling you what to do, but my advice would be to at least wait a 1000 miles or so to break in the engine in a sane manner before dogging the poor little thing!

Little Faith in the smart

I aprreciate those of you that already have your smart giving me a heads up about loosing my money in a race. Bull, do you really think it is necessary to "break in" the car for the first 1000 miles?

Based on what I have seen around here, I think it is VERY important. Many things take place during the break-in period that will have bearing on the longevity of your motor.
I wouldn't even consider taking the chance.
Fredvon4 has a tremendous amount of knowledge on this. As soon as I can dig up his post on the subject, I will post it.

Agreed! I for one, value Fredvon4's opinion. I have kept much of what he has said and will put it into practice once I get my !

Each to their own! It's your car, do with it as you will . As for me, I want mine to last a good long time!
