My compact air horn paid for itself today!!

Got out of work early this afternoon to drive my wife to the dental office. On the way there I was cruising along with traffic in the left lane when a Cirrus was passing in the right lane but caught up with a truck going the speed limit in the right lane. I was a good 20 feet behind the truck in front of me (pretty close) as we were doing about 40mph when I caught the Cirrus start to drift over to switch lanes. My wife was grabbing at door like the car was filling with water...then I laid on the compact air horn. It scared the &%& out of the lady in the Cirrus. While I was in her blind spot she knew I was there as she just past me!

I love that horn so much better than the stock horn! Today it paid for itself.

I have soo got to get one. Living here in Texas with Texas sized trucks everywhere, all I ever see is the undercarriage of them, so I can only imagine, they can't see me. What model did you get? I haven't been able to decide on which one to get. The Badboy II that Smart Madness has is tempting with that price, but, will it be loud enough?

My Stebel mini air horn had a profound effect on the lady in the next lane who drifted onto mine while she was chatting on the cellphone. I believe her phone's keypad left a nice impression on her left cheek after I bansheed her with my horn.

Priceless.

I have the BadBoy... it is quite a bit lowder than the stock smart horn.
If you have a Harbor Freight store anywhere near you.. they have them for around $30

Hey, if you'd been driving an SUV you could have just enjoyed the ensuing crash and walked away smiling.

Thanks tv, there is one around here, im gonna make the stop (at least if it isn't to my liking, I can have a much easier time returning it than having to ship it back).

ST, I have seen a few of the Hella horns, but, if I remember correctly, they were a little more pricey. And for someone who is unemployed, price becomes a HUGE factor with everything! LOL!

When I heard the stock horn, I upgraded to the fanfare one on day 2 of ownership. But, really didn't find it adequate on the Interstates so I swapped it out about 8 -9 months ago for the Wolo Bad Boy. I'm convinced that horn has saved me more than once in similar circumstances. IMO, it's definitely worth installing.

We compared the two horn upgrades with a blind test and the hella twin supertone horns won by a large margin. the Bad boy horn is a good loud upgrade but the hella twins are REALLY loud... and yes they are about 20 buckaroonies more though.. but think of the fun you will have making those pickup driving guys spill their ice tea cup full of chewin tabaker spit when you "politely" tell them that they have INVADED YOUR SPACE!!!!
