Agreed.

I could be wrong and I have nothing to base this off of, but is it possible that people that are taking less options are getting their cars quicker ?

I'm getting a very base model passion and it looks like my wait is much shorter then others. If i get it on the early point of my dde it will be 6 months and if I get it at the end of the dde it will be 9 months.

I think it's become pretty much agreed upon that model or options have no impact on the build/delivery time. I'm also in Philly, unfortunately, having reserved in early Nov of last year and having received my car 9 months later in August, quicker than most other reports. I think it's a Philly thing: we are not the brightest, most well informed people in the nation. If anything, we, as a rule, are followers, not leaders, who will catch on to the phenomena that is smart, oh, right about the time most of the rest of the nation has tired of them. Generally, to know of smart cars, you have to know how to read. Philadephians, don't! I guess the wait time for us now, has slipped to 6 months. (You'll notice, smart didn't even assign a dealer within Philadelphia limits: they've done their homework!)

Be glad you're able to take advantage of one of the few benefits of living in or around this city: quick delivery!

Enjoy your car. I sure enjoy mine!!!

Remember WHY you wanted a Smart to begin with! A VW bug does not smile at you like the smart, it can't share a parking space and it's just not smart!!

Get it, drive it for awhile and if you don't like it, you'll have one of the first 2009 Gray (or Red) smarts and you can sell it if you need to! The 08's may be everywhere, but the 09's aren't so easy to come by. And, if you end up leaving... You can put it in the back of a U-haul!!

Don't give up on us Baby!!

Or it could be that there isn't MB dealer in the city, but they are on the fringes. I mean CH MB is just over the bridge, less then 10 minutes away from where I live.

If you don't like our city, go away, but you don't need to trash it on this website.
