Of course, it totally depends on which nabe you have in mind. But city parking is prolly a lot safer than rural/suburban parking when it comes to large parking lots, etc, because of the relative sparseness of the population.

I grew up in NYC and live upstate. My car is more likely to be vandalized in some quiet lot upstate than on the sidewalks on the Upper West Side (UWS) or UES. But if you left your car up by Yankee Stadium late at night, you might be at serious risk.

Still, vandalism is really rare in general, so pay for the lot if you're only doing it once, but park on the street if it's going to be a habit -- otherwise you'll be out a lot of money over time. Seems like odd logic, but there ya go.

I have had my car picked up and rotated by strangers. This past weekend our school had a celebration where people consumed large amounts of alcohol. Fortunately, I had the car parked 15ft from my room and I used the panic button once. (Some guy was putting his hand in his mouth next to my car...you get what he was trying to do)

Actually, the 175's will fit on the front rims

Sorry to hear about your Smart Darci. You never know what jackass psycho is out there hating those little cars or just jealous. I hope you notified the police. Stay safe!

The Smart is back!

Well I got my Smart back today with fresh new tires.
$320. was the final bill (and that included a 20% sympathy discount from the dealership!)

The only problem with the alarm is that it is so sensitive that I usually have to turn it off at my high school. Otherwise every time a breeze blows it goes off. I cant wait until I can take it to dealer to have the sensor changed.
