Don't let those that chose to live where they have to be in fear all the time scare you as well. I only close my garage door at night to keep the critters out, Nobody driving by would know it was open because there are no lights.
Not about to pay for AC in the summer when the breeze is free.
If anyone was hanging around staking out the house to figure out a pattern they would stand out like a pickup truck in an empty corn field.
