Yep, my detailer uses Meguiar's also. He mentioned the stuff's a lot more expensive than what most people would buy, but he showed me the stuff he used on the dashboard, which is water based, not silicone based. I asked him his opinion of Armor All and he did his best not to laugh, because I know he gets the question a lot. All I can say is after seeing the results of a professional detail ($55 for a first-time full cleaning and wax, including pano roof), I'm sold... I may never go through a car wash again.
I got the Explorer done today... for $115 he did the same treatment, and whoa is it shiny... last week my wife took the truck through 5 miles of mud and 200 miles of lovebugs when she visited her mother in rural Mississippi. Today it looks better than when we bought it. He said he'll do maintenance cleanings for $50 for the Explorer or $35 for the smart. Once every month or two, I could probably afford that.
I've got a third car that hasn't been washed or waxed for 5 years. It's in horrible shape, cracked and faded paint, pine sap. Maintenance is vital.
I should also note that the smart is the first car I've ever justified paying more than $5 to "clean." It shows how much I live this little thing - it's not just any old car. It's the next VW Bug.
