My smart got keyed....

About two weeks ago my smart was keyed at my local Costco parking lot. All the way down the passenger side and across the entire back of the car. I cannot believe someone would do something to a car like this. The scratch is deep enough that all of those panels will need to be repainted.

Sorry to hear this... my first new car got keyed on the 6th day I owned it. I know the feeling... would it cost less to replace the panels? Maybe a color change is in order?

I know that Costco is not responsible, but they usually monitor their parking lots with CCTV cameras. Did you report it to the police?

I hate to say it, but they probably did it BECAUSE it is a car like this. Not all the attention is going to be good. Was it a solid color or Metallic?

Where you located. I would hate to have it happen near me in the Austin area. OMG, kill em all and let God sort em out.

Sounds like somebody is jealous that they don't drive a cool car like you. It's sad that there will always be haters in the world it's just to bad we can't line them all up and shoot em dead. Sorry to hear about your car.

One reservation on your statement, about truckers.
I've noticed two categories, the "real" haulers who, usually, like the smart (some are members of the forum). For them, we are more like puppies.
And the "local deliveries" drivers, for whom we are like fruit flies.
All this being said, I shouldn't generalize.
