So you're saying the socket itself provides current intermittently? Or are you saying the devices' plugs that you insert into the ACC socket don't fit snugly in the socket and therefore don't get a constant flow of current?
It's my understanding that there are at least two basic sizes for the cigarette lighter socket's inside diameter: 21 mm (used in American cars), and ~22 mm (used in many European cars). See

So if it's a matter of your plugs not fitting the socket snugly, you should probably get an adapter, which are available in Walmart, Target, etc., or your local auto shop. Or you may get away with putting an O-ring on each problematic plug that's just big enough to wrap around the plug to make the fit snug.
