I've taken many a trip without GPS and using only a map, so I know enough to navigate around...but there is a lot to be said about convenience. Sometimes, embracing technology can make life a little easier...and a little safer. I'd rather listen to something tell me where to turn instead of fumbling with a map while missing a turn in traffic.

Remember, for that $2,500 you get not only the head unit but installation and high end Kenwood speakers and sub.

For $2500 we can eat quite well for over half a year or fill our Smart's gasoline tank 150 times when it gets down to one bubble. I guess it is all about priorities.

Heh, guess I missed the first part (or even the main point!) of this thread. I was thinking of just navigation systems in general, not those overpriced built in versions... I'm more than happy with my $90 TomTom, but would find myself crazy if I paid $2,500 for a built in!
