The Buffalo sales rep gave me the softest sell I can imagine. There was no push for tire warranty or anything else. In fact, the only thing they had was gap coverage, and he said no one ever takes that so mark here to decline. They didn't even bring up the extended warranty. (Of course, they had my financing wrong, didn't give me my $99 credit until I asked, and various other things...so I'm not surprised.)
The dealership may be selling a warranty through another company and not the smart warranty. Thus that might explain the price difference. You can always take your time and purchase the warranty later.
