Need coolant help

Does anyone know if the coolant available at my local Mercedes-Benz dealer will work in my smart? The spec sheet for the smart says to use MB325.0 but the stuff at the MB store says it is MB325.1. I've not been able to find anything that says the 325.1 exceeds the 325.0. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Older containers of the MB "Anticorrosion / Antifreeze Agent" were marked 325.0, while newer bottles were labelled 325.1. The part number did not change.

That being said, you should also be fine using an off-the-shelf coolant that is safe for aluminium engines and is phosphate/silicate-free.

I was told to just buy a gallon of Peak 50/50. I haven't used it yet, so I have no idea if it's what I'm supposed to use or not...

Assuming it is the Long Life or Global LifeTime variety, that should be fine.

Why I'm curious about is why people are having to change their coolant on cars that have only been available in the USA since 2008.

The car has 40,000 miles on it and that is when the book says it should be replaced.
