New Cabriolet Owner - Rear Rattle/Wind Question

Hi all!!!
Was lucky enough to get myself a 2008 Cabriolet today - Black with Silver Cell and black leather. I have a quick question. While driving I have noticed that not only are there several rattles (with top up) coming from the rear of the car (right and left of the rear window - possibly associated with all the mechanical bars on either side), but the top in general "wiggles" and "warbles" with wind rushing in and out of it (again, all while it is up). Is this normal?
Sorry for the lack of a better description. Any advice?

Mike

One of the frequent "rattle" is the buckle of the belt knocking on the door: if your passenger seat is empty, be sure to have the belt strap on front and on top of the seat's back and not hanging straight down. That'll be a start...

I've got a silver cabrio now with 1100 miles. Just one little 'crackle' sound coming from the edge of the top, but only when the top is down and it just started. The car is pretty quiet with the top up. I had a rattle in the driver's door when I got the car and they replaced the lock mechanism - while I waited. The dealer couldn't have been more eager to get it fixed.

Hmmm...well, there has always been two people in the vehicle, both buckled in. The noise is heard by both passengers, behind each. It is a strong rattling. Maybe I should bring it in to the dealer? How difficult is it to get an appointment?

I had that issue with my passion. I took it to the dealer, and they fixed it. The door needed to be oiled up a bit. Call the dealer and let them know about this and have it fixed.

Don't have that issue with my cabrio; it's pretty darn quiet for a convertible. Have it checked out.

Ours now has 2200 miles and has recently started to develop a couple of small rattles over holes or bumps.

Frankly, I was surprised at first that it did not rattle at all to begin with, so the car is within expectations.

I find that it rattles in the rear whenever there is a crosswind. It's the major reason I'm keeping my reservation and ordering a coupe when the time comes.

The cabrio top can be "unhooked" in the back when the "trunk" is open. If its not secured all the way in, it will create a rattle sound. Check that to see if it the problem first

Our Cabrio has about 600 miles on it and I also notice a rattle coming from the back. We thought that the top had come loose in the back (where it meets "trunk"), but it was secure. Please let me know what you find out. We thought that it was normal.
