Suze,
I've STILL got my Sentra for sale. Had it on Craig's List for the 45 day run. I'm thinking about re-listing it and lowering my asking price, maybe that will help.
It's a rough time to try to sell any car (or house). But, there's a world of difference in demand between a Sentra and a Fortwo!
Well, that is scary!!! I didn't know there were neocons on there!
I sold my wife's old '98 Sebring convertible on Craig's List last year, you need to post pictures, be realistic about asking price (everyone can use KBB.com), AND cancel/repost the add every so often to keep it at the top of the list. We sold the car for $2K more than we would have gotten from the dealer.
Now I did cash any check they gave me immediately and at the bank it was drawn on (including the cashiers check). I even called the bank to validate the check before passing over the title.
Dagnabbit, timo - are you certain those are all orphans? When the cars all came in the last week of October, almost all had owners attached to them. Perhaps this is a month when everyone chooses to not follow through with purchase and more of those really are orphans but I hate seeing our lovely dealership seen in the light of not being able to sell their inventory.

Yes, John, 17 orphans. Verified by scpdx personnel. They have all the orphans lined up on the west end of the lot and the "spoken for" smarts are along the front of the building.
I'm thinking that anyone in Portland who wants a smart already has one.
Nice pic, Timo. Smarts look cute after a rain, even if a bit lonely.

Right you are John, but apparently some were fair-weather smart wannabe's as they cx'd as soon as the weather took an exit from the summer highway... especially the cabrio's. I didn't check the number of cabrios to coupes, but it seemed unusually high.
The center is not so optimistic about moving these (something they haven't been forced to do -- SELL) because of the drop in gas prices, feeling that the demand has cooled. So much pessimism that they did not "orphanize" all them with the usual list of suspects (all the dealer extras on Suze's zippy).
Good luck to Suze anyway. Perhaps someone will find zippy to be the one for them.
When I went in to the bank to find out about financing, I was told a Pure was worth $11,500 and they would only give me 80% of that price. there wasn't a list of options or any upgrades. They were going by the list price from NADA. It was a battle to get financing and I finnaly had to pull the old 'maybe I should check across the street and move all my accounts over there' card I hate dealing with Banks.
Welcome to the beginning of the new world order where you'll have to save up cash for what you want to buy; no more free make-believe money. Even many of us 'savers and investors' have had half of our life savings vanish in our IRA and 401k accounts, over the past month or so, and we're now really feeling the pinch and are too old to be able to work. It will get worse, much worse, and even President Obama won't be able to fix things in my lifetime. The 'great leveling' is about to take place.
