Not true. You can build them on teh NADA website. Its a low ball, but check it out.

OK, not to distract from yet another interesting discussion on financing, but just to get back to topic...

I haven't had any responses to my craigslist ad in the first 24 hours. Not even an obvious scammer has bothered to email me.


And I wonder if it's just Portland of if other smart centers have seen a similar slowdown.

What is everybody seeing where you are?

Im telling you try ebay. It wont cost you a dime if no one buys. And build the fee into the price if someone does win. Start your bid at the lowest amount you are willing to take + the fee.

On CL, you really have to keep up with it. Make sure you stay on top. And dont get discouraged if someone flags your post for removal. Just re post and keep going.

I was not able to sell my little zippy, so called the dealer yesterday to tell them I can't take delivery of my yellow cabriolet.

I'm OK with that decision.

The last few times I've seen the yellow, I didn't really like it that much. I think it looks best in full sun. And a convertible doesn't hold much appeal for me these days - we're on day 13 of a rain streak that's likely to be off and on (mostly ON) for another 7 months.

So, the good news is I got a DDE on my 1757 reservation - April 2010-June 2010. Perfect! Zippy will be 2 + years old, I'll get a new smart cabrio with everything in Ralley Red and the season with be perfect for top down driving.

Thanks again to the lovely SCOA community who offered so much good advice and words of encouragement. It's tough having to give up the car you ordered, but luckily I had time and friends on my side.
