New transmission software?

From a SF member's post earlier today:

This sounds like the patch we've been talking about. This is for customers experiencing a problem getting into reverse according to those discussions and not intended for the general public. It's purpose is curative, not prophylactic.

Is there anything more to the story?

Yeah we have been talking about this quite a bit. If folks have a problem that used to requite the clutch replacement (will not go into R) then they will get this update first. If they then still have problems they may get a new clutch

No one has been able to clearly tell us exactly what the patch does. I feel they are keeping the service folks in the dark for now. Can't tell a lie if you don't know anything.

Had it done 3 weeks ago. Its to solve
reverse issues, and to save the clutch.
Isn't free after warranty is over. Just made it in time.
Shifts a little different. Cost $60.00 out of warranty.

Not true... one call to smartUSA and it's free... We had a club member go that route just last week. The clutch issue is a known issue to smartUSA... if you call them on it you won't be charged.

Eliminates slipping the clutch?

Does it eliminate the clutch slipping when downshifting into second from third say after slowing down for a corner?
