yeah, what do newspaper car writers know anyway! Car and Driver declared the Renault Alliance "Car Of The Year" in 1983! The 1971 Chevy Vega was Motor Trends car of the year along with the 1980 Chevy Citation! If actual car magazine writers cant get it right, how is a part time wedding anouncment/part time car reviewer going to do it?

Dyer says:

"If you live in a city and there are dedicated parking
spots for the Smart (or you are allowed to piggy-back two into one spot), it's not completely pointless. Otherwise, I fail to see the point."

it gets worse with Cobb's statement:

"As a toy, it's "kind of" fun, as a car it leaves much to be desired. for starters I desire a transmission that shifts gears without dancing the "jerk"."

and then, downright nasty with Ulrich.

"In competition with a golfcart, the Smart is a toss up. But at least golfcarts can hold two sets of golf clubs. Whoever decided that this crude, two seat, 36 mpg tortoise was right for america should have his sierra club membership revoked."

WHO ARE THESE PIGS???

I'm writing a letter as we speak demanding an explanation, and also so as to call bull**** on their miserable methods of testing cars.

they are clearly a bunch of cheating Biased scumbags and from this day forth I'm never opening even a copy of that rag.

nothing feels better than venting a bit of spleen....
Relax pal! Hears a fact for ya,
NYT has one foot in bankruptcy and the other in readership sinking faster than the Titanic. This example of opinion based on nonexistent research and personal bias is an indisputable reason why! There news coverage is even worse. They are at this time the best example in this country of how to kill a newspaper. They will take care of themselves! You will be driving you Smart long after they have been relegated to writing for the shopper. Drive on!

New York Times? I wouldn't even insult my parakeet by lining the bottom of his cage with that joke of a paper.

You mean your parakeet would not take joy in pooping on it?
