Im new to this site and cant wait to get my Fortwo, but it seems that some info on this page is missleading. It shows that the US is getting more than just the Fortwo. It also shows that we have a choice on engine when on the smartusa page it sais that we do not. Any word on any of that?

Don't know how we are misleading but we do aim to please everyone and you may not believe this but there have been groups importing smart roadsters, fortwos, and forfours for over 4 years now.

yea, i'm not really sure what you're talking about really. this is just a public forum where uninformed people speculate about stuff. just like every other BB in the interweb. don't believe everything you read. not sure where you read that we were getting any other car than the Fortwo at this point, that isn't happening at this point. don't know where you read that there is a choice of engines. there isn't. sounds like you are confusing different threads. different Smart models with different motors including diesal are available in Canada and many other countries. they may come here eventually not certainly nothing in the near future.

I think he means the info on the SCoA homepage(s). If you get into pages 3 through 6 there are other smart models shown, as well as a diesel and an electric smart. All "FYI" but it's easy to assume those cars are available [from Penske] in the USA. I saw a similar post in one of the Yahoo! smart groups so maybe we need to clarify what those other models are and why they are shown. Just my .02.

SmartCarof America web site predominently caters to the new 2008 451 Smart fortwo. But in the USA there are all versions of the Smart brand represented from personal import of the early Gen 1 up to 2006 Gen 2 450 fortwwos. There are very few but some roadsters, and forfours in America also.

If you do not want to wait in line for a new 2008 451 one of the advertisers has lowerd the price of 2 2006 fortwo 450 series Gen 2 to around $19K... They only have 2 of these with under 50 miles on them. These same cars were offered for sale last year for $26K and up.

SCOA caters to more then just the new 2008 Smart car 451 versions
