NJs First real Smart Car accident.

Yesterday morning on 295 (a major highway). I don't know if it was one of our people or even if they want that published. I won't reveal names if I get them. I do think we should post this stuff to see how the little guy does fare thru a major crash. I friend of mine is an EMT and she's the one who told me this morning. I'll post more details when I find.them.

OK, I'm biting my toungue here. Jwight, I believe you were just being funny, no problemo. This wasn't a post to bust on Smarts. I have yet to approach the subject in a sarcastic manner. I put this up because it IS a subject that'll need to be addressed. All Smart owners ask the question what happens if...... If Admin wants to lock it thinking I'm starting something...do it now and you'll never hear from me again. Personally if they released the 70 mpg diesel that'd be the one I'd swap my Yaris for. I always like the little bugger/fortwo but circumstance turned me in a different direction. Spock out.

Bob, I truly am sorry if my attempt at humor didn't come across well. Probably should have deleted after I posted but thought it might get a smile after the "other" thread. I'm all in favor of keeping up with smart accident history; hopefully we can learn from it.

Again, my apologies for the failed attempt to be funny - stick with us, I for one value your input and opinions.

Jwight, you're ok in my book. There have been a couple of ugly threads that were locked. I didn't want anyone to get the impression that I was being a wise guy. I still like the car and have friends here that I'd like to keep in touch with.... No apology necessary...but thanks, U da man!

assuming the folks are OK my next concern will be if the car is totaled.... from the aspect of how long the owner waits for a replacment car....

But because the source is an EMT friend... that implies injuries .....and I sincerely hope they were minor and all are OK

SmartBob, I for one love the Yaris hatchback , everytime I see a white one with tinted out windows I can't not think it's cool. On it's release I almost took the plunge but held back. I have a couple more weeks before I get my Smart but I will be honest, I know it's going to be more of a headache than a Yaris would ever be but for 10 years now I have wanted a smart and now the time has come, maybe I will regret it but I've learned worse lessons in harder ways I'm sure. I have had my Toyota Matrix since Jan. 2002 and have loved it, I truly think Toyota is #1 and have actually always disliked Euro cars, If only the Smart was made by Toyota...well, we can look forward to the IQ, it might just be the car I trade my smart in for.

For "smart"?bob

What in the Hell are you alluding to. What accident? What circumstances? What outcome? If this is yet another of your "Yaro-centric bear-baiting," you need to immediately stuff this thread in your dimple (or a moderator should!).

Don't make me come back there...

This is not a Yaris thread - it is a smart accident thread. We've been round the mulberry bush a couple of times on the "smart vs. xxx" topics; let's keep this one on topic for once.

We thank you for your support.
