I just heard from my Smart rep that despite my (now) 160,000 miles of driving a 2008 Smart, I don't qualify for MB's 250,000-km badge. Simple reason: It's only for cars that have the Mercedes Benz badge (in other words, 'real' Mercs).
Bummer. I was really hoping for that badge. There are only a handful of US drivers over 156,000 miles. I think it would do a bit to help Smart if they acknowledged that the cars can really last.
smart should come up with their own badge just for smarts. The brand manager at one of our local smart centers has 183k almost trouble free miles on his smart and it is still going strong.Another owner had 156k on his smart.

It's a Daimler product, but it is not a Mercedes Benz.
I wouldn't reasonably expect them to offer this to owners of the smart any more than I would expect them to offer them to someone in a Dodge Sprinter...
Posted a link to this thread on smartusainsider.com. After M-B USA took over last year there was some discussion of a high mileage smart badge but that was about it. Hopefully they will have an answer now that we're getting more high mileage 451s and some of the 450s as well.
Still 3 days to bid or buy this one outright. It's a much nicer badge than the PoS Mercedes is giving away, now. Both my Benz's have one of these and the '83 300TD wagon has the 500K badge, same vintage, on it.
If I ever sell to 300TD, I'll keep the badges to put on the Smart. That will be just as hilarious as my vintage V-8 badge on the tailgate....
Oh wait. You mean the 0.9L. Actually, when I had my knees replaced, they didn't make sure I "went" before releasing me. After about a week of dribbling, the urologist drained a full liter out.
