No, These are Not My High Beams!

So I've been driving around the burbs at night a bit lately (my suburban brother and sister-in-law just made me an aunt!), and on more than one occasion, people have flashed their high beams at me. My knee jerk reaction is that they think I have my high beams on, but I don't!

Do these cars have crazy-bright headlights?

Maybe they just like my car?

Anyone else having a similar experience?

there is a thread here discussing making a slight adjustment. the projector lenses appear to be aimed a bit higher than the avg vehicle out there.

and I just thought they liked my car

Is this something the dealer could do for me? At the current time my tool box consists of a roll of duct tape, a hammer, some pliars and a few nails. I also have no garage and I try not to draw too much attention to Ruby in my neighborhood. I just kind of try to hide her. It's pretty high-traffic.

me too

I'm going in for my 10K mile service and have mentioned that I'll need the headlights adjusted for the same reason.

Ruby. buy a single 6 mm Allen wrench and follow the directions in the DIY. Don't even bother with marking the garage door and all that...just turn each adjuster 1 1/2 turns clockwise and see how it is the next night. The entire procedure is so easy it should take you less than three minutes and you could do it anywhere you like.

I wish. I had a yellow VW beetle. She was the closest thing to a lemon that the lemon law refused to aknowledge. I can handle new windsheild wipers... and checking oil... and fluid stuff... but when a headlight died and I went to replace it... like a lightbulb... in a lamp, I learned that you have to take the entire front of the car off for that. Gotta know when to hold and when to fold...

I'm totally envious of all of you do-it-yourself-ers but i'm skurred. ShoshTrvls, you're right in my neighborhood. Have you had the same problem? We could attempt this fix together on both cars?

Pop into your dealer. They should be able to do this in three minutes.
