Not even 5 minutes and a cop stops me....

So, I own my Smart not even five minutes. I immediately leave Smart Center Orlando, turn the corner, head down to where my salesperson showed me how to park, etc....a empty parking lot aside from a few cars on a Saturday (in fact, a Culinary Institute my nephew attended..they are off for the Summer break.) I am going to "set" my breaks as instructed on this forum and my husband. Speed up, fast slow down, not quite stop, several times. An unmarked car enters the parking lot. I see it, stop and wait for it to park so I don't get in his way. He drives right over to me! Tells me he is a Sherriff's Dept unmarked (I now see the lights) and asks me a few questions. I tell him what I am doing. He tells me he would have no problem with it, but this is school property: go down around the corner on an empty street to do all of that. He was friendly enough, but.....

I am sooo happy my car has arrived! Here's a pic:

As I have heard and will pass on..."This is not a nose-pickin car!"

Good story pwbapro.

Not sure what a nose-pickin car is though.

pwbapro means "a car where one can remain unobserved", I suppose.

The cabrio's the nose picking model. Hop on the freeway, pop open the top, pick to your heart's delight, and let it fly over the top!

Nice pic, by the way. Enjoy your new smart!

Oh, I get it. In this car everyone's looking at you, so you better not be....

Somebody is ALWAYS watching you.

pwbapro - Congrats on making it out of the dealership without having the windows tinted for an extreme amount of $350. You probably saw my parents there yesterday. Two really old people with a Passion similar to yours but with the comfort package and tinted windows - also it's a coupe (same color scheme as you). They were getting their sunscreen fixed (or at least they were supposed to swing by there yesterday to do that)

I got there late, about 4pm I believe. Was on the road with everything done around 6pm. Nice FL sunset-y drive home to Cocoa on the B-line. Cy'all at our Central FL Smarty-outings! yaaaay!!!! I don't believe Judson even mentioned the tinting (but I am thinking of my own tinting here in Brevard County...) plus a sunshade of course. For the moment it looks as though I will have to fabricate my own out of the ol'cardboard and scissors. Unless there is one yet made for us.

Keep an eye out for them - they're in Brevard too, staying up in Titusville and I'm SURE one of the grandkids or kids will borrow and joyride down to Cocoa or Merritt Island. It's inevitable .

so he would rather you do that on a PUBLIC STREET, where a car could come from out of no where rather than do it in a VACANT PARKING LOT?

i can see him asking you what you're doing, but after you explained it, i just can't believe he would suggest you do it IN THE STREET.

oh, btw.....NICE SMART!!!!
