I love experts. Especially ones who are so easily discredited. If you are calling a lowered smart a "proper driving machine", then it is you who has never driven one. I really like my smart, but it pales in the face of REAL "proper driving machines." The 90-92 mph cutoff precludes it being a "proper driving machine." That's second, maybe third, gear in a "proper driving machine." Get a grip. It's an economy car.

I wasn't calling the Smart a "proper driving machine". I'm sorry you are confused.

Most cars of that size will be a little unstable in crosswinds, it is just a matter of how you handle them such as not to speed and ride into them. I had a Dodge Maxi-van for a coffee delivery service and it was really bad in high winds, so the Smart was not all that bad compared to one of those beasts. I did have a Metro bus fly past me on I-66 yesterday and it did blow me over slightly, but it was not nothing to make me get all bent over.
