How will Smart Car notify you that you are able to purchase a car? Phone, mail, email, etc? I have my $99 down since June.

My $99 was put down in June also. I think we are on the border of being contacted either by email or by dealer. The big question is whether the online configuration confirmation will continue after the dealer in the applicable area officially opens.

Online configuration is most likely to continue even after the dealers are open. Especially for those who all ready made reservations in 2007. No need to drive to the dealer to do what you can do at home online.

And once the dealers are open, reservations are reported to still be made online, either at the dealer or the net per other postings here.

Of course, smart has still not figured out a way to deliver the car via the net with current technology. However work on a new car replicator that fits in a standard USB port is still under development at a secret factory in Sindelfingen, Germany.
