The blue ones are metallic so it would probably be cheaper to buy the blue when ordering the car. Most options are cheaper when they are put on the car from the factory. Order the yellow later. Best is to really check the price of both as if you were going to buy them as accessories and make your decision accordingly.
Just my .02, but if you know it won't be going back to all blue, my guess is any good painter could do that in one day for less than the cost of the panels, and you'd get to pick which yellow to use as well.
I appreciate all the paint-some-of-the panels suggestions, but I like the idea of having full sets of both colors, so I can swap to all-blue or all-yellow if I want to on occasion.
yes, "JM", call your dealer and ask about the prices on both the blue and the yellow and go from there.
also, keep in mind, that when switching panels, you're smarts registration will show the WRONG COLOR. i don't know how 'picky' the police are in your area, but you may end up with a ticket for something as stupid as 'improper registration' .....just so you know.
but by all means, get the extra panels. i'm doing the same thing, but i think when i tell the BMV what color the car is, i'll give them the color of the tridion cell....SILVER in my case. that will never change. if i ever get a ticket for having the wrong color on the registration, i'll simply argue that the panels are 'trim panels' and NOT the actual color of the car.

Actually, I think that's the way it's supposed to be. Before I even got my car, I called the dealership to get the details so I could get an insurance quote, and they told me that it's technically black (tridion color). I didn't check my registration, but that sorta makes sense.
Do some jurisdictions really ticket you for not having the same color as what's stated on the registration? What difference does it make as long as the VIN, make, model, and license plate match? So if you decide to paint your car a new color a day after you bring it home from the dealer, you can get ticketed? What a bunch of hooey.
BTW, i love the choice of blue and yellow; those were my school colors (go Cal!). I think your car will rock.
