Oil Pan Leaking

I got a BB messenger from my ex and she took her 09 passion in for 10k service and had to be rescheduled. They told her the oil pan was leaking. Has there been much of that reported. I'm not a good searcher.
We got ours within days of each other. I'll have to look under mine.

Problem noticed on day #2 or 3 of ownership. I was told over the phone that the seal was not installed correctly. My silver Brabus spent 7 days at the shop since (quote and unquoted) they had to order the special sealant, and the repair took longer than anticipated. It's fixed now, no more oil stains on the garage floor.

Shark, maybe the same person worked on your ex's and my Smarts back in Hambach .

Mine leaked with about 450 miles on it. Simple fix drop pan re-seal reinstall pan. Smart center Orlando fixed it just after lunch time. (thanks Kevin). Bob.

I'm sure the factory workers responsible got re-trained in applying the seal before too many oil pans were done badly. Just in case, check your oil level weekly and keep an eye out for the burning / smoking reported in the other threads. With 30k+ cars sold, if it were "common" we'd have heard about it more than three times here.

It's quite common, don't be alarmed. Mine was in the shop for 3 days getting it diagnosed/fixed.

They got it fixed up yesterday afternoon. I dont know why I worry about it it's not mine anymore. Maybe I should go to court for visitation rights.
