Oil Prices-Starting a modest climb?

Todays news:
Prices: Oil rose toward $58 per barrel today as a surge in global stock markets raised expectations of
economic recovery and of increased demand for oil products. US light crude for June delivery rose
$1.54 cents per barrel to $57.88 by 0821 GMT, adding to $2.50 gains on Wednesday when it settled
at $56.34, its highest close since Nov. 14, 2008. London Brent crude rose $1.54 cents to $57.69. US
crude inventories have gained again, but by a lower-than-expected 600,000 barrels against forecasts
for a 2.2-million-barrel build, while US gasoline stocks fell last week by 200,000 barrels to 212.4
million, the Energy Information Administration said on Wednesday.

We are a long way from $4.00 Gas but after an extended period of very little movement in Oil Prices it may be starting a long term increase. Will be interesting to see how it performs over the summer driving season.

When it hits $4 plus a gallon does that mean we can turn up the smug level to 11? 41MPG FTW!

It is already $3.45 CAD a US gal. when converted from $0.91/ liter up here in Canada.
That is $2.94 USD.

Friday AM May,8

Prices: Oil rose above $57 per barrel today, on hopes of an economic recovery that could boost
falling world oil demand. US crude rose $1.11 to $57.82 per barrel by 1029 GMT, after settling at
$56.71 on Thursday, the highest settlement since Nov. 14. Brent crude was up $1.10 at $57.57.
