Oil smell & Heat through Handbrake area

Went to dealer Twice and was told they could not find Oil smell problem when putting down windows. I found where the problem is coming from. When you are driving with windows closed and then put down either one of the windows it appears that it creates a draft through the Handbrake area and if you drive long enough the lower portion of the Handbrake becomes to HOT to touch. Anyone else having this problem. If so Please advise and also if you know of a Fix. Many Thanks!

This issue has come up here on the forum before. I think about a month ago. I searched and no luck.
Maybe a MOD can help us find it. A2Jack

Check the seal on the engine cover. If it is not seated correctly you will get air flow back up under the carpet and out the hand brake area.

I remember the original thread and checking for the next time few times I was out for a drive. I've never been able to duplicate the problem in my passion coupe.

E brake boots!

I've got a little solution for you ;)

Leather E-Brake boots, custom made in the US from genuine Italian Leather! Built to my design.

Installation takes 5 minutes and gives the interior a very nice "finished" look.

$35+shipping. Black leather with red, tan or black stitching in stock. 1 week turn around on custom colors.

Thanks to all! I am heading to the dealer early next week for another problem (Shade replacement) and I plan to discuss this again. If I come up empty I guess we will be buying one them "Fancy Boots". Reminds me of the old days trying to dress up that Hurst Shifter.....
