Online technical Manual for Owners!!

Just out!!!!!!!!!

Service information and work instructions are now available, for purchase, to the public. These documents can be viewed on the Owner's website smart USA Owners Portal - Home Upon loggin onto the site, click on the Certified Professionals icon. Click See Subscription Plans and you can choose between a 1 day, 7 days, 30 days, or 1 year subscription for a small fee. The information available on this site is the same information the technicians have available through the WIS/ASRA system.

this came out earlier today so if for some reason this is an extra post let me know and i will remove it.

This is the same manual the service pros get right - at the same prices? $450 PER YEAR is not a bargain IMHO; it's like leasing the manual with no option to buy. Must be an M-B thing.

I see your point, but at the same time, with it being 'on line' instead of 'in print', it is continuously updated with the latest upgrades, tech bulletins, etc.

With information constantly changing day to day and even sometimes every hour or minute, you can be assured that you have the most up-to-date information at your fingertips, 24-7....365 days a year.

Just my take on it anyway. Expensive, yes......but like many things, it's all in the eye of the beholder.

Always good to have the current info, and the pros can write the subscription cost off as a business expense. I'm just as happy with the printed/CD manuals at a one time price well under $200 (for a GM car.)

"for a GM car"? You're comparing a GM product to that of a MB?

Shame on you 'jwight', SHAME ON YOU! Bad John......

What's the difference between this online manual and
Mercedes WIS (Workshop Information System) ? Other than being more expensive, I mean.

Why not we all get an account to share? Then we each can save money and share the benefits?!?

SCOA account anyone?

That's what I proposed some time ago, when I first saw this on the smartUSA site.

Either local clubs can pool their resources OR maybe for SCOA Members Only, we could have access to it?

I would be willing to pay an extra few bucks/year in SCOA Dues for access. How about it, Ryan????

Judging from the other thread... where people were talking about how hard it was to install.. and having to get a "key" based on their computers MAC address... I would think that a group subscription would not work.

Well, we don't really want to get into that or somebody would bring up a comparison to Chrysler....
