How much is it for a day? I think one would only need to access it once in a great while. At least I hope.

What's the difference between this online manual and
Mercedes WIS (Workshop Information System) ? Other than being more expensive, I mean.

Hmmm. My wife is a new owner of the Smart, but I drive a vette. I really don't think trashing GMs does anybody any good. I have a lot of fun driving her smart but I really love driving my vette.

I like the idea of the Online manual but $450 keeps the shade tree mechanic from purchasing it. I guess the idea is that it makes it cheaper for the consumer to take it to the dealer instead of trying to do the work themselves. We need a tech section on this forum so that we can talk about this stuff. I am sure there are some good smart mechanics on here to lead us in the right direction.

Keep in mind the $450 just rents the manual - not a purchase. If someone wanted access for 10 years, that's $4500. Too rich for my blood.

BTW, I got a set of 03 Vette shop manuals (3 volumes) for under $100.

Do you need the manual 365 days a year? Rent for a day multiple times each year and it's significantly less expensive than $450.

I am a gear head in my spare time. I like to read the FSMs when I am forced to watch those lifetime movies with my wife. So it disappoints me not to have one to thumb through like I do for the vette.

This is far better than what we had before. Nothing at all. Will reserve final judgement until I have actually logged on and had a look.

Perhaps my question is so stupid it doesn't warrant an answer?

I wouldn't take it personally, probably no one has had a chance to really compare them as yet.
