Ken, you and The Orlando smartcenter are to be commended for being so proactive. Those of us, who live in regions where the "smartcenter" is only interested in the all mighty dollar, are jealous!

A smartcenter with half a brain should be able to figure out that a local gathering of multi-colored smarts generates interest in the vehicle and may even sell a smart. Heck might even get some media coverage leading to some very inexpensive advertising!

Seems it is better to pay your "smart" salespeople to just sit back and wait for a customer to walk in off the street to see your huge (compared to a year ago) inventory and accidentally sell one. Then wait a year or so to make your next buck on service. All of this while complaining that the accessories and EURO sized smart apparel isn't selling.

BRILLIANT MARKETING PLAN, that will NEVER be read in a college text book. Go figure?

Well it does take a lot of work and a lot of time and some just aren't in a position to make the effort.

As of tonight we are up to 31 smart cars registered and I got confirmation tonight that Breathless Performance products will be there. They are bringing two of their racing go-carts for a demo as well as a Turbo Smart and possibly a Vette to run in the public runs that Sat night.

It will be a blast!

I am hoping many of the SCOA members from around the Southeast will make it in for the event.
Remember, this is an open event for all smarties. Come out and join us.

Weekly Countdown and participation update:
Event is 13 weeks from today.
So far we have 34 smart cars registered with two vendors committed-Breathless and Billet & Acrylic.
Dave Schembri is also committed.

Ken, I just signed up for Orlando 2. Just a few ?'s. Is anything going on BEFORE 3:00 pm? Will there be CLASSES of Smarts, ie. stock, slightly modified, more modified, turbo/supercharged,and Hayabusa powered? Heck, I'd pay $20 bucks just to see some of them put on a show. BAM! Kick it up a notch!! With YOU in the drivers seat this is a DEFINATE don't miss event. Cheerz, SmartChip

We are not starting till 3:00PM because the facility doesn't normally open untill 7:00PM and we are paying to have it staffed early. Having said that there is go-cart rental open at 10:00AM so those that want to cart could come early for that if they wanted.

There will be a few cars with aftermarket turbo's. We would love to get a Hayabusa there but don't know if that will happen.

We will likely have a couple of classes between the Turbo's and the more stock smarts.

We are over 40 cars registered already with at least three turbo's already signed up.
