Orlando Smart Accident

Thought you might be interested in what happened this morning.

Owner was coming in for his 1 year service and as he was getting off exit 78 coming west on I-4.
As he made the turn to cross over I-4 on Conroy Road, a car hit him on the passenger side and spun him into
a truck.

The truck flipped over and the smart suffered some major damage as you can see, however, the picture with
Owner reaching in the window was taken an hour later. Owner is fine, interior of the smart is perfect, though it
looks like the tridion in the front might have been damaged.

No one could believe how the smart faired versus the flipped over truck.

Owner went ahead and had the tow truck bring it here so he would not miss his appointment! Needless to say
we couldn't do the 2.0 upgrade - and sent the car in tow to Universal Body.

Yikes! I'm glad to hear the owner is okay. What a terrible trip to the dealer...at least now he/she can get another reservation.

Glad the owner is all right

From the looks of things, even though it's a lot of damage, it's not all that bad and looks repairable ! Keep us posted

Glad the owner's OK. Nobody's said anything about the truck's driver. Depends what kind of truck, damage, etc. That driver could have been crushed depending on how it flipped, so try to keep your jubilee respectful to the other guy... I really hope they're all physically and emotionally ok in this case. If so, it would be interesting to know more about the truck involved.

Glad to hear the owner is OK.

We are rebuilding a smart for a customer right now that was wrecked. Over the the last month he has forwarded a lot of smart cars to us that have been sold at auctions all over the US (we were looking for parts). Most of them show either the front or the back being badly damaged, but most of the time from what I can see the cage has been in perfect shape.

Good to see that the cage has once again stood the test.

Hey Ken
I glad to hear the owner was ok. A client at our shop told me about this and from what he said the smart and it's owner were broken up all over the road. This proves once again how safe our little cars are ! Thanks for the post.
