My Smart rep. called me on a triple black orphan - it was a base Passion as well until they added tint, pinstripe, black powder-coated wheels, and lo-jack for an extra three grand.
If you want an orphan there it seems like you have to speak up early or get a mandatory (possibly) slew of extra equipment added. I don't know if you can even buy one without that stuff added. And, I cant' say as I blame them for mining a little profit out of their orphans.
If you want the triple black, call Amber. For a yellow/silver Passion (I think) call Whitney, unless she had her facts wrong and the car listed above is the one she has.

RLove,
Allison had told me previously that the after market add ons were MANDATORY for orphans. The min amount is $1,700. I really don't want most of the add ons. But I really would hate to wait until Dec - Feb when I reserved 20 March 07. That would be an almost 2 year wait. I could be happy with yellow even though I reserved blue.
I did get an email this past week about a "Possible" silver/silver being orphaned. I was a bit sad since silver is the only color I just can't get into the love of.

How about suggesting that your mandatory add-ons be a set of yellow or blue panels? Maybe they would bite on that...and a few other things I'm sure, just to drive the price up. You're going to want tint anyway I would guess. Colored panels and their overpriced tint should get you nearly to your $1700 minimum. Maybe add the rear compartment cover - a must I would think, and you're there.
You reserved in March, and you won't get a car until Dec-Feb? I reserved in May '07, configured Dec. 22., and the admittedly screwed up DEE says August-October delivery. Allison said to please disregard info coming off of the DEE since it doesn't appear to correct.
I thought all that reserved in March were driving their cars by now.
Oh, now I read your info. - You reserved shortly after me in May, but you configured in March, That's strange - I reserved six days before you but configured in December.

I don't think they would bite.
All of their add-ons seem to be nothing but pure margin for their bottom line. Accessories wouldn't be, and I don't think panels would be either from what I have seen in the "someone hit my smart" thread.

Yeah. Once they get notification of the fact it's an orphan it's loaded up.
I really want a smart. And I really hate waiting. Thank goodness the weather is getting better. I'll just go out and ride the Harley this week.
BTW $1,795 is the cheaper of the after market options they do. It really skyrockets once they powder coat the wheels.
I'll probably just end up waiting for mine.
