Other Smart type cars coming to America?

Are other Smart type(size)cars coming to America? I don't see the big 3 coming out with this type of car in the near future. There still trying to push the trucks and SUV's. Anything out there with a turbo-diesel engine? I see the Smart design as the perfect platform to do some amazing things with the car.

The fortwo diesel has been sold in Europe and Canada for years; US-EPA won't allow it though. There was a Roadster model and the ForFour (a four door, 5 passenger super-mini) as well as the still-born ForMore (an AWD-version of the ForFour) ... Unless driven by demand (and fuel prices), there are, in the short-medium term, no other Smart choices except for the performance model known as the Smart Brabus ... a great-looking hot-little box tuned (optically and mechanically) by Brabus.

Hi, new here. At first glance, Smart and Brabus must be the most unlikely bedfellows in the automotive industry. For me, it’s fine. I like it. For the past three decades, Brabus has developed a desirable reputation as the tuner of Mercedes automobiles for the lunatic fringe, and newly celebrated its 30th anniversary with an extraordinary C-Class power-driven by a twin-turbo 6.3-liter V12 that can run 224 mph. By contrast, Smart productions are cute, eco-friendly city vehicles that have a top speed of 85 mph.

there's Toyota's "I.Q." () that has been apparently slated for Asian and European markets, but NOT the U.S......so far.

that's the closest thing i've seen to the smart.
