Paint Protection

Did anyone get the paint protection application on their car? I am wondering if it is worth it.

clear mask type yes very worth it and get it done when you first buy the car. the kind that is waxed based is not worth it for the exterior.

Yep - my dealer had already applied "paint and fabric protection" when I bought my orphan. The paint has held up well for nine months and the fabric protection seems to be good. Was it worth the nearly $500 bucks? I don't think so . . . there are so many great items available today, Ultimate, Ice, Zaino, etc. that are so much less.

I assume everyone realizes this only applies to the metallic colors. The solid colors are not painted (one of my favorite features of the car)....

No way worth - $499. Was disappointed to see it applied to my loaded demo - but happy to purchase a without the wait. I keep my cars (usually a loaded Linc) for 12 to 14 years.

Never, . . . never do I ever put any soap of any nature on the paint finish. Never go through a car wash! I only use a bucket of water with a water-filled, soft sponge (used for washing horses, yep;) to wipe the dirt off. If the car was exceptionally dirty, or salty, a second bucket of water works along the bottom and wheels. And a thirsty towel wipes it all away.

Our cars always look like a new finish to the end of their long lives. We always kept two silicon (boat) wax coats on the paint - which lasted almost two years. Everyone comments on our painted finishes. BTW, a bucket of water is another green service to our Big Blue World.
