I street park in downtown Phoenix everynight and I am not worried, if it happens, it happens.

yup that's my mentality too...
because as we all know, if someone wants to take it,,,they're going to take it.

can't wait to change out the panels...it should be fun
rob a bank, turn the corner and come out driving a different colored car..=P haha j/k because we all know it takes a good 2 hrs to change the panels =P

LOL... I guess the smart in any color is so incognito and is available in any corner that it will blend in with the traffic...

Actually, what Smart did with the Tridion shell was pretty, well, smart. All Smart fortwos will either be registered as "silver" or "black" no matter that color the rest of the panels are. So if you buy a blue on silver fortwo you actually own a silver car so you can change your other panels to red, yellow or even polka-dots... in the eye of the law you still have a "silver" car.

Hopefully local police departments are getting educated so they end giving drivers a hard time when pulling them over (although most cops would be so amused by our smarts and just want to pintch their cheeks).

Odd, my title says my smart color is white which is the color of the panels, not the tridion.

that is odd... i'm not sure about AZ but in NY (and after checking with my dealer) they only register the tridion color. I think it is up to your dealer to correctly register the vehicle.

It's conceivable that you might get stopped for the wrong color (reasonable suspicion) but the vin # will set you free. A nice chocolate iced donut wouldn't hurt........

register it as the color of your Tridion Cell...Silver or Black. can't change THAT so it will always be correct. makes sense to me anyway.....

depending on the State and 'their' requirements, you may be able to tell the DMV, BMV, whatever.....that the color of your car is "X" and they just enter it into the computer. that's the way it is here in Indiana.

if it doesn't work that way in YOUR State, ask your dealer when they make out your paperwork to list the color of your Tridion Cell as the "color" of your Smart. this i would think would be passed on to your BMV for registration and title work.

but a good thing to ask your dealer about anyway.....

My smart got registered here in Texas as red, some would say it should be orange.
