I drove to Las Vegas once during the middle of a lightning storm in my edge with the vista roof. Talk about fun. The whole car lit up every time the lightning flashed and I could see the whole sky covered in electric blue. I live in a very hot area, but I thought about driving in that storm and knew I couldn't opt for a solid roof. I have a cabrio, but the car I configured will have the panoramic. Don't think electrical storms would be nearly as much fun with the top down.

I feel that the roof makes the car brighter inside..... and in turn more roomy. Finally got my shade fixed. Doesn't look or feel different, but I am being very delicate towards it.
In reality though, now that its cooler, I never close it. I love sunroofs an my only problem is that it doesnt open!

My pure has the solid roof, which is covered in fabric, and I appreciate the extra head room. The shade takes a bit away from the available space.

A felt like fabric, slightly fuzzy.

It was (at no extra cost) when I configured, last December.

If you live in a Hot climate like Phoenix or Vegas you really MUST get the solid roof. Gas mileage takes a hit because the A/C just cant keep up. I put a sunshade over mine and it makes a considerable difference. In the wintertime though it is hands down one of my favorite things about the car.

I was going to order the cabrio and then had a reality check. I gave up the Firebirds and the Wranglers several years ago in favor of maintaining my hairstyle. The panoramic roof is a great compromise. I especially appreciate it in gloomy Northern Indiana. On the occasional day when the sun does shine there is nothing better than basking in the glow on the way to or from work!

The see thru roof is the answer to a question no one asked. If someone could prove to me that paint would stick to it, I'd have it painted to match the car.

panoramic roof is/was one of the selling points of the smart, it adds to the visual effect of a roomier interior...our shade is always open...
