Parallel Parking Rant

I haven't felt the need for those add-on spikes screw into my bumper yet but I have this problem when I pull into a marked curbside parallel parking space and park in the middle of the space. Afterwards, someone will park in the space in front or behind me and park farly close to me. Their car will actually be over into my marked space.
I can understand some bonehead or ditzy driver being used to parking in front of or behind a longer car and then eyeballing the amount of space needed to park clear of that car but after they get out of their car they should see that they are clearly parked over into the next space.
Perhaps they are rushed or too busy to fix their parking poor job. After all this is "L.A." I just want to know where are all those meter readers or traffic cops when I park?

...My rant

Carry a couple of traffic cones - one in front, one in back.

pabille,

It could be worse, you could live in New York.... Here's a photo I took about 10 years ago.

The real problem is, many people don't care about others. For them it's all about them.

Parking

I live in Miami. In the situation described by Pabille the other car would be ticketed. A meter maid here told me you can do anything you want, at any angle, as long as you don't touch or cross the lines. Touch or cross, and you get a ticket

I see two empty "parking spots" in this picture....and knowing NYC, someone with a motor cycle would use them.

Bumbling's apparently alittle busy at the moment so I'll step in as part of the extended collective.... back off "Lower Alabama"

They don't take kindly to ribbing and the reaction usually involves the word "guage"
