Parking 'Smart'! (pics)

Just a few pics of smart-sized parking here in SF. It's hugely liberating to know you never have to worry about parking anywhere, at anytime, here in the city.

Post your smart-size parking experiences!

Exactly. Quite a strong reason this car is so appealing. I keep seeing smart-sized spots *between* cars, but I've yet to have the guts to get between the cars on either end. After I've got a scuff or two.. they better look out, I'll park anywhere. Can't wait!

That's cute but as with the tail in parking style don't you think that would annoy the people coming out of their garage since there probably was never a car there before? Just curious..not being a wise guy. The smart seems to be slightly in the way of every garage in those photos.

You cute little show off. Boy do we have it made. I love your pixs and I think the top two pixs are perfect for wallpaper. Your camera takes very good pixs. It also doesn't hurt that SF is a great back drop to get good pixs. Thanks for sharing! Regina

Hey Bob, generally most point-and-shoots have a wider lenses, that combined with foreshortening makes it seem like the car is bigger than the spaces, when in actuality they were slightly larger than the Smart.

To get both in relative perspective as possible you'd need a nice long lens (say 400mm) and take the photo about a block away to flatten it all out. Of course you'll always get some amount of discrepancy because of inherent space created by the sidewalk.

Regina, thanks for the compliment!

parking

My friend has a neat pic of "lil red" parked at the catfish fry in Nada Texas. I parked in the front row and pulled up to the front of the space. When we came out there was a HUGE three wheeler and a large two-wheeler parked behind me. If I ever get the pic off her phone i will post it.
