Passion Cabrio or Coupe?

What do you guys think is better? is it worth the extra money?

I live in SW Mich and have gotten up to 1.5 feet of snow in one night.

Which would be better for me? I don't drive super long distances, and if i do maybe once a year.

Will mostly use to get too and from high school (5 miles away) and maybe a little shopping or going to friends house.

Oh and when I get a job, I will drive to that (15yo)

My dad says that i should get the cabrio because I will like it more, but for 3k more, Is It Worth It?

can we trade dads? I am 19 and still "borrow" my mom's Nissan Rogue to get around town (work, school, friends). I am in Chicago, so the climate is similar and although the summer just ended and you feel like it would have been totally awesome to have a rag-top, I must say its not worth it.

1. More $$$ that can be spent on performance and electronics upgrades instead. (or save it, times are tough right now)
2. It will only be useful May - September, otherwise it will be too cold/wet/both to make any use of it.
3. The rag-top has a different hatch design which makes it less practical (no top window that opens, must always open the bottom hatch).
4. Also makes the trunk space smaller.
5. One thing does get bigger -- BLIND SPOTS

So my advice, stay w/ a Passion, open the sun-screen and some windows for that open air sensation. By the time you realize it its a fake feeling, you would have finished your 10 minute drive to school. Drop in a better radio/nav + catback exhaust and air filter... and still have $2000 left in the bank!

Tell Daddio it would be cool to have a cabrio w/silver tridion AND a coupe w/black (think of all the color combos)

Try riding in a friend's convertible-rent one

Yeah right, like we have the money to rent a convertible. We make a lot of money but don't ever have any extra, 300k house on 15 year loan and pacifica lease, new civic and bro in college who just got in legal trouble+ mom is a Realtor (horrible housing market) and then i am going to be getting a car. I need a job though!

Definitely Ragtop....

My first was a VW when I was your age... that was nearly 40 years ago. You'll be surprised how happy it makes you feel when you've had a rotten day.
Happy motoring,

Hello fellow 15 year old of the roads! I want the Passion, but for you, I would say that you should go to your Smart Center and compare the vehicles.

I do agree with Orangecones because I live in Illinois too and as soon as it gets cold, not open rag-top. The panoramic sunroof is perfect for Me!
My avatar is the one I want to get by Orphan.

Quick tips:

If you don't have your permit yet, get it, drive a car, then make your decision.

If you do have one, and you don't like to wait, sign up for an orphan and you may get lucky!

I work at Six Flags Great America and soon after closing, Gamecrazy.
My family sounds a lot like yours, except my brother thinks he's a Rappin' Gangster. Him + college =

Get the cabrio - I think it will be warmer in the winter than the coupe because of the padding on the top. And yes, it's worth it. - sheureka
