Peekers (as in: Them that peek into your car)

I know there have been a few related threads (Creepers, for one), but I wanted to start a new thread about observations and maybe some suggestions (if any, if necessary) related to people staring into our cars.

I live in a secluded spot, so no one stares into the car when it's parked at home, but when my wife parks the car outside her store, she notices a lot of ppl staring into the car. The get right up close, snooting around to see what kind of capacity it has, looking at what kind of seats it has, etc. As far as we know, no one has yet tried the handles.

When I park in Manhattan, I think the car gets LESS attention on account of the way people behave in big cities. People do stop and look at it, but prolly not as intrusively as they do in New Paltz.

I was joking with the wife that we should get a light-activated ogle-stopper that would shoot up a little jack-in-the-box type thingy anytime someone got too close to a window. I guess we could also cover the car, but I'd rather not for now.

everylace I go people ask questions, that Smart car gets a lot of attention. What I need is a little holder for cards, with info so they can get a Smart too.

Setting off the panic button on the key fob when people get too close is a fun way to spend a couple of hours drinking margaritas on a restaurant patio. People really laugh when this happens.

Keep in mind that at least for those of us that first saw smart cars in Europe we were peekers too at one time. I understand the desire to protect our smarts but if we are anti peekers we should have purchased Ford 500s and no one would pay any attention.

Ahh. That's a good idea. As it happens, my wife's done that, since she can often see the car right outside the shop window. But the margaritas! A stroke of genius!

I got too close to a super car and the alarm TOLD me to step away from the car.

I heard another car alarm speak something about the "perimeter".

Not a bad idea but then again I'm sure it would tick someone off and that would be the person that kicked the door.

Gee, that's just about the whole car!

Dash Info Page

Why fight it? I have an 8.5x11 sheet on the dash with the answers to about every question most people ask. And with the snout of the car being so short they can walk right up and read the sheet. I even have a few extras in the glove box in case someone starts asking questions and I don't have time to answer. I just appologize and hand them a fact sheet. Seems to have worked so far. Since I posted the fact sheet I haven't gotten any more notes stuffed under the wipers.;)

Someone must have been looking awfully close while I was at work the other day.. When I got to the parking lot, there were two forehead grease prints on the passenger side window... Ew. :P

What a great idea, Rex.

Although, I can't take anything complete seriously...

What do you think people will think if I write that it runs on marshmellos?

Then get a vanity plate that says SMORE.
