We heard at smart Bloomfield here in Michigan that they're going to be printing up cards with facts about the car on them and they will be distributing them to our club members to keep on hand to give out to people who ask about the car. I wonder if they're going to be doing that at all the dealerships.
Why fight it? I have an 8.5x11 sheet on the dash with the answers to about every question most people ask. And with the snout of the car being so short they can walk right up and read the sheet. I even have a few extras in the glove box in case someone starts asking questions and I don't have time to answer. I just appologize and hand them a fact sheet. Seems to have worked so far. Since I posted the fact sheet I haven't gotten any more notes stuffed under the wipers.;)

EXCELLENT IDEA, you should cut-n-paste the text here so we can use it too!!!
I have a typed sheet that I put on the windshield and I have the Medallions the Ron at rgaus15496@aol.com makes that go on the side of the car ... real classy looking that answer about 95% of the questions. I will try to find his link and post it again. He is a member of this board .. maybe a search will bring it up.
This not the one I use but it is close. I don't remember who I stole it from so I can't give credit where it is due. You can use something like this and put more personal info like where you bought it and info on your car. Works great.
It's made by the Mercedes Automobile Group, a division of Daimler-Benz, in Hambach, France. Its design originated as a joint venture of Mercedes-Benz and Swatch, the watch maker. It's gas-fueled, not electric or hybrid. Its mileage is 33/41 MPG under 2008 EPA standards (40/45 MPG under 2007 EPA standards). This is the highest MPG of any non-hybrid car, although it does takes premium gasoline. It's 8'10.1" long, 5'1.38" wide, and 5'0.71" tall. The trunk is 39" wide, 27" tall, and 21" deep. It weighs 1,852 pounds (the hardtop models weigh 1808 pounds).
All smart models have the same engine and safety features. The Mitsubishi engine is 1.0L, 71 horsepower, 3 cylinders. The transmission is a 5-speed "automated manual" that can be driven in either automatic or manual mode. Its top speed is set by an electronic governor at 90 MPH. It is equipped with front and side air bags, anti-lock brakes, an electronic stability program, and a steel "tridion cell" that is like a racing car's roll cage.
The smart comes in three models: the Pure coupe is the basic model, without air conditioning or radio: it starts at $11,590. The Passion coupe, with air conditioning, radio, some luxury features, and a sunroof, starts at $13,590. This car is a convertible, with upgraded radio and sound system. It is called the Passion cabriolet, and starts at $16,590. A limited number of options are available, including leather seats, heated seats, fog lights, and tachometer and clock pods.
The steel tridion cell comes in either silver or black. The body panels are plastic and replaceable; a full set of body panels costs $899 in white, black, or yellow or $1099 in blue, silver, or red.
Also a little note like "Feel free to LOOK but please DON'T TOUCH" works wonders for the finger prints etc.
There were 3 or 4 real good ones posted in the past. Try a search.
The show car world always has, "Unless you're naked, please don't touch" posted on their cars. It probably will help, and in more liberated areas could be great fun!
I don't have a problem with people looking at the car. But I was really pissed when couple days ago I was walking in to the AutoZone I looked back and I see some guy trying to lift my car by the rear fender.
