Ah. I see that you don't know what you're talking about. I gave you more credit than I should have, and for that I apologize.

Again, I see that you're sorely lacking when it comes to knowledge, and - again, I apologize for giving you more credit than I should have.
As far as what is local to you: you've listed your location as "Location: LA & OC, CA" which makes what is local to you local to me.

Well ... at the risk of repeating myself, I obviously gave you WAY more credit than I should have. You're not 'providing relief,' you're 'donating money' which may allow others to provide relief.

Not sure what that means, but I recommend that you take a remedial reading and comprehension class before you post next time. It'll really help you out.
I actually picked up my Pure prior to my reservation number. My car is a PURE and was on the lot because nobody wanted it without most of the basic amenitites. For me it was perfect because I am stripping down the car, and am building a very custom smart.
Last week I got a call for another orphan which I gave to my friend. Now I have one more car coming in, are people really paying over MSRP right now to get a SMART? Just curious, because I would probably give it to one of the forum members here if ya asked.
What I find amazing is some people are having a problem getting one. Now here you are with a 3rd on the way. I guess that makes you extra special. And isn't that awfully giving of you to raffle off your spot so you can donate the money to .... ummm .... a cause close to your heart.
Well, I hate to be the one to stick to the topic;), but I got my orphan at sticker + $450 (the cost of the added-on power-steering that I prolly would have wanted anyway). The dealer didn't try to pull anything fast except for the speed with which I got my car ** less than 1 week from when I made my initial inquiries. I don't think I could get another one as quickly - seems I got lucky with the timing of a shipment.
I bought mine used (600 miles on it) from a dealer (it was traded in for a Porsche) and paid about $500 over MSRP - but since I didn't have to pay dealer fees ($500 here) or destination charges I actually came out ahead. And it was exactly my configuration except it has alarm and fog lights. I'm thrilled.

Your pal,
Meat.
I'd like to sit here and tear apart your post, but I'll let you have your 15 minutes of fame. I've nothing but good intentions with the smart coming, and you come on my post badgering my ideas of donation to a charitable foundation. I find that being able to raise money and help a cause than to just pass on my spot works out for the best. I have no intentions to profit from this. Next time you want to take the time to slander my post look elseware, because obviously you are trying to provoke an argument for the sake of argument. Grow up.

Well the car I picked up is a pure. Without A/C and power windows and mirrors, I can see why it was still available. It was the perfect car for me, as the car is getting stripped down for audio & interior. Wheels, suspension, & bodykit on the way as well. The 2nd car I had put my name on a list at a local dealership, and surprisingly it came within a week (just not the color I wanted). The 3rd is my actual reservation number. Thanks for the sarcasm btw.
...but you can't because you have a more pressing engagement, a bus to catch, yadda, yadda, yadda... Heard it all before. What it means is that you have no argument to present.

Naah. You read my post and wanted to fight. I merely said that helping local charities is a better idea. If you took offense at that, that's your schtick. Send money to whatever company it is that wants to ship rice to Africa, I'm sure that at least $0.08 of every dollar goes directly to help those that need it most. Save a rainforest from itself. Feel bad because the thriving and expanding polar bear population doesn't need human help or protection. Whatever you want that makes you feel like you contributed to a cause.
Me, I've got a date to go to the Midnight Mission and feed people. Assemble bags of personal items for our local VA hospital patients. Work on collecting new shoes from local businesses for children who need them. Y'know: hands-on work with real people who need help locally.

I'm not sure what an 'elseware' is, but I do know that slander is verbal. And I certainly haven't said anything about you. Ever.
Hope that clears the air between us, and that you can get on about your life.
