Eric H,
I'm trying to understand all points of view from those who are on this thread. My feeling is that there is the real possibility of readers of the thread to get a negative vibe from the concept of messing around with the reservation system that is in place. Most of us out here are in the waiting game and at least for myself it looks like it might be over a years period of time. Can you see how to gangle this idea out here in the community that is trying to have a feeling of unity only puts a wedge between that feeling?

Jeff,
You seem to be the person with common sense.....Me, Still waiting too and this thread is terribly selfish and is not taking into consideration the hundreds of people, still waiting for a Smartie. Get real! God help those in China too.

Getting back to the original idea of the thread I think that so many people are buying over MSRP because Smart is not communicating with the general public. Granted, I've only been on the waiting list for about 4 months, but I can get nothing from Smart other than :
Estimated ETA Date:

Your vehicle delivery date cannot be estimated at this time.

This leads me to believe it's almost never going to happen. Consequently I'm taking someone up on their offer of a thousand dollar finders fee. Maybe if I could get something like your vehicle will be delivered within 6 months I wouldn't be looking for alternative methods.

Understood. I guess my post could be misconstrued that I had the intention of waving it in someone's face. No hostility meant, I'll just have to take delivery of another Smart hehe.

Where I'd like to donate the money is my perogative, and as you said changing things locally will change things globally. Now how do you know what is local to ME? I can define my heritage as local. And yes you can provide relief:

Some one should raffe you to China so you can go live in that communistic socialist over populated pit of filth. And yes I have been there.
Not a place I would like to return to with or without a fortwo.
