I've been posting about my smart on my LiveJournal, and recently got a comment there about it being a "deathtrap". In response, I posted links to your pics, evilbean, and just about completely changed that person's mind!
I'm glad you're ok, that your smart did such a good job of keeping you safe!

i have one question: i watched that vid of the smart car crash and it said that you would be killed and it showed things intruding into the drivers seat, did that happen for you or did the TSC (tridion safety cell) prevent any car parts from entering your area and hurting you???

Like other have said, I'm sorry to see that you had and accident and I'm also glad to hear that you're OK.

Your accident does show that the Smart's safety features really do work as expected. The photos are amazing; given 3 rolls, the inside of the car is mostly untouched and the outside held up very well considering what it went through.

No one wants to have anyone get into an accident, but it's nice to know how well the Smart holds up to an accident.

So what has happened to your car now? Is it fixable? If the insurance totaled it I wonder where it has gone to (auction?) If you can find out from your insurance company that would be cool (I have a friend that goes to insurance auctions) Maybe he/I could fix it...

Thank God you're ok!

Right. I was thinking that could be it. Although I was impressed with that video honestly. There is some intrusion into the cabin at a direct hit at 70mph, but it stood up really well. The video goes on to point out that anyone would likely be dead after an impact like that in any car, as your internal organs can't handle that type of deceleration. So with that in mind, I still don't think the smart is any more dangerous than a Dodge Caravan at those speeds vs a wall.

Evil, really glad you survived! What a horror story! Good luck with rebuilding your life, especially replacing your smart. Wish your dealer could serve up a new smart for you quickly. GOOD LUCK!
