I pick up my convertible last Saturday. It's a Penske owned Smarter dealer. There are few demos and new Smart available for sale. The new ones all have accessories added by the dealer to raise the price. Kenwood nevigation-$2,000, Leather seat, $1,500 and clear bra, $900 which raised the price $4-4.5K higher than MSRP.
The first moment I drive out the parking lot, I noticed the Smart would rock forward when changing gear in the auto mode. That feels very uncomfortable. We are all spoiled with Toyota quality for so long. After came back and read many transmission posting, I let go the gas pedal when the computer is changing gear. The shifting becomes better or just use the manual mode, the rocking with just go away.
Overall, I am happy with this little car.
