Picking up Orphan today!

Received a call from the Chicago area dealership yesterday. After turning away 3 or 4 that just did not suit my wife's taste, we are proud parents of a blue/black cell Cabrio with Comfort Package. We were actually going for a passion coupe, but what's not to like about this baby! We leave in an hour to pick her up.

Can't wait!

There is nothing quite like the combination of a happy wife and a new car! Congratulations and enjoy.

Got it!

Picked it up yesterday. We were not thinking of blue, but we absolutely love it!

Drove about 20 miles to my sister-in-law's home. In some spots, we were up to 70 miles per hour with no complaints. It was a rather windy day, but not too bad. The car definitely gets blown around a bit at higher speeds. I learned to use the paddle shifters quickly. The good thing about this mode is if you forget you are in the "manual" mode, the tranny will downshift for you as you come to a stop. I couldn't believe how many people were taking pictures on their cell phones as we were driving along.

At one point, I was wating for my wife in a parcel pickup area of a local grocery store. One guy stops his car to ask a ton of questions while he was holding up traffic behind him. Horns blasting! He just didn't care. My 911's never got this kind of attention.

I picked up my orphan in Pittsburgh. It took less than 2 minutes for someone to stop me and ask all the normal questions. I love the car itself....even if no one looked at all...great little car. Congrats on yours...hope you like yours as much!
