Picking up Smart on Friday......

I am scheduled to pick up my smart passion tomorrow and was wondering of the tach/clock and floormats are accessories worth spending the extra bucks? I ordered this vehicle 18 months ago and my financial situation was much better than it is now: I work in the auto manufacturing industry! My wife is giving me grief about the purchase since money is tighter these days but I can't convince myself to just put it up for adoption, not to mention letting the dealer make a few xtra bucks for doing nothing!. I also would like to know what else the dealer is going to try and "sell" me on once I get there. Any help would be appreciated

Congratulations on the car! Bummer on the financial situation. We were in the same boat, but we looked at how much the car would save in fuel costs and decided to bite the bullet and take a chance that everything would turn out fine.

I had the tach/clock added at time of manufacture, so I can't answer that question. The floormats can always wait -- just get some cheap rubber ones for now.

Floor mats can be found cheaper elsewhere (not smart ones, but anything will do for the time being), tach and clock can also be added later.
The basic question remains: are you really cornered into relinquishing what you've been waiting for, for so long?
