Its not the monitor. There are several factors, most due to light. In person the difference is huge. But in the photo, light is bouncing from both at each other and to the camera. Kind of like when you have something blue next to something white and the white looks blueish. Take two separate pics where the cars are not side by side, with similar light conditions, and put the pics side by side. Then you can see the difference.

I can see the photos on my home computer but not my work computer. It could be that they are blocked. Where are you viewing the photos? If it work, it could be that the filter that was set up is keeping them from beingviewed.

babybenz,

Thanks again for the pics. I too can see the difference! Can't wait to see it "in person!"

Yes there is a difference but it is not significant on the monitor.
It's like comparing two TV's side by side, yet when only one is in your home and set up properly you will be happy with that one.

If you can't see the pics, it's because they are being "software" blocked

Maybe shouldn't be "surfing" at work

Looking at the new red at the car show, it sort of looked like a lipstick red with a pinkish hue and was solid plastic color. The old metalic red is painted on (vs. mixed in with the plastic) and has an orange hue. I like red, but I don't like either Smart version but that's just me. From a distance and not comparing it to another red, you probably wouldn't notice any difference between the two.

As for the picture, it could just be the camera's CCD interperting those two reds as the same. Something I notice in Sony cameras, especiall the low end like the S650. I did a simple photoshop color correction and desaturated the color (low end cameras tend to have color cast issues as well as oversaturate colors). Now you can see that the car on the left is more orange than the one on the right.
