Can somebody please remind me again, as to what we were told about today's process? Don't I recall that somebody, supposedly in the know, said that those who registered early would all get an e-mail and that would be followed up by a phone call?
I know I tarried a wee bit and didn't get my 1173 registration sent in until 10:30 in the morning, but I was under the impression that was fairly 'EARLY' as the first day registrants went.
However, I have not heard anything from anybody. I'm confused as to how it is that some dealerships are humming away contacting people (and people who registered later than some of the rest of us, I might add) and others have not heard anything. Some salespeople seem to be going out of their way to be supportive and others are almost aloof in their lack of diligence to reach out to this site and to individuals.
Is there an insiders club to the insiders club that I somehow didn't get signed up for? I'm just trying to understand all of this. Perhaps somebody who has it all figured out can explain it in a way I can understand.

HD. I posted a reply to you. Wife was just there at the Bloomfield dealer.
Did you read my POST??
Jack, I read your posting. How could the dealership at the NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS not be ready to go? I had no luck in trying to get dealership contact information from Smart USA, other than they are dedicated to Customer Service, but they still did not provide a contact number or e-mail address. Is this a case of the cobbler's kids not having any shoes to wear?
I'm totally confused.

but perhaps more importantly....what day did you confirm?
are you sure...most are still floating their reservation timestamp around, but not mentioning when they actually confirmed. But, as it has been mentioned....its prolly a dealership related issue. Maybe tomorrow for you!
Karl,
Man, do I ever understand your frustration...... If it's any consolation, I haven't been contacted either way, yet, either. I did manage to get my dealership's number and called them to find out by a person who was not a sales rep that I was on the list to call today.......and she gave me my VIN #. That made me feel a little better and I have been able to complete my loan and start contacting insurance companies which is making me feel like I am still making progress. I hope you get some good news, soon, since I hate going into a weekend with 'waiting' put essentially on 'hold'. However, the lady I talked with said they had Saturday hours, so maybe most of the stores will still be contacting people tomorrow, too. I'm rooting for you to get 'the word'.

Looks to me like the SoCal dealers are the ones that are really in high gear and that mosrt likely has to do with the number of reservations. There are others (PA I think) also. SmartCard is probably accurate on this point being a dealership issue. As I recall there were many that were not ready to open and if they have no computers yet, they can't proceed with a lot of this process.
Did anyone else see that reference in another posting to 42,000+ reservations? Wow!
